Roosevelt Forest: Stratford CT

This is truly a forgetten place here in Stratford CT. Nobody ever seems to talk about it and after five years living in Stratford now I have only driven into the entrance. What a shame. I should get out more!

There’s 250 acres of forest here shared between two towns. It’s a big place to go exploring and get a little lost in. I still can’t believe I have not been there. I’m embarrassed about it.

Here’s my plan, I hope you adopt a similar one. This summer I am going to bike some of the trails. My bike is perfect for these types flat dirt trails. No I am not going to ride my bike there as it is the other side of town but I will get my lazy behind over there and break a sweat.

After checking the place out I will bring the kids back and bring them to the best spots I found. Should be fun.

My wife warned me about the Roosevelt Forest melon heads. I wonder where this silly story started from. Anyone out there have any insight into that?
