Harrold, Texas - This is in Harrold Texas on the Oklahoma border. I couldn't make this stuff up. The Wild West is being tamed by our educators!
Being from Connecticut this sounds completely crazy. Why would anyone in their right mind allow teachers to carry guns around in the classroom under the guise of protecting their students?
On the surface everything here looks honky-dory. Teachers have guns, classrooms are secure, and the children are extra respectful for fear of a pistol whipping.
Come on! Let's get real here. Cops have accidents. Trained professionals who's sole duty it is protect the public make poor decisions and pull the trigger by accident. All the gun safety in the world wont make a misguided sixteen year old or idiotic forty five year old educator completely safe from themselves.
There's gotta be a better solution to creating a safe environment for their students than putting them in jeopardy. We need better ideas and solutions than giving the teachers guns.
